Quantum generators of light and nonlinear optics. Klimontovich Yu.L.
The book proposed to the attention of readers is devoted to the description of physical processes in quantum light generators and phenomena occurring in substances under the influence of powerful electromagnetic radiation of such generators. The author makes an attempt to give a systematic, but at the same time accessible presentation of processes of processes in quantum optical generators and the foundations of the theory of such processes, trying to follow not along the path of simplification, but along the path of clarification of difficult issues that arise.
The book consists of three parts. In the first, introductory part in the accessible form, information from quantum mechanics and quantum radiation theory, necessary to understand the further. In the second part, the principles of the action of quantum light generators are described in detail, a description of various types of quantum optical generators: ruby, gas, semiconductor. The third part sets out the theoretical and experimental foundations of non -linear optics - the section of optics, which discusses phenomena that occur in such a strong electromagnetic field that the principle of superposition is disturbed in the spread of electromagnetic waves in the environment.
The book will be useful as an introduction for students specializing in quantum electronics. For a complete understanding of the presentation, the reader needs mathematical training, which is possessed by high school teachers and students. But in a large part, the book is also available to readers less prepared mathematically, in particular, high school students who are interested in physics.
