The proposed publication is the third volume of the fundamental work of the famous French physicists K. Cohen-Rannuji, B. Diu and F. Laloe “Quantum Mechanics”. According to the latitude of the coverage of the material and details of the mathematical apparatus, these books have no equal among all known publications and are a universal textbook for students and graduate students of various levels of training. They were translated into many languages of the world, including Russian. This volume is written in the style characteristic of authors: a detailed explanation of all stages of reasoning and calculations using specific interesting examples and analysis of experimental results. The book is addressed primarily to physicists or chemists already familiar with the basic principles of quantum mechanics. The first part of it sets out methods for studying the ensembles of identical particles in the formalism of birth and destruction operators, field operators and, in particular, use Hartri-foca equations for farmions and Gross-Phythevsky for bosons. The foundations of the theory of Bardin-Cooper-Khrunter (BKSh) are given in the case of Fermons and Bogolyubov theory in the case of bosons. The second part of the third volume is devoted to the quantum theory of electromagnetic radiation, which discusses spontaneous radiation, multifot transitions and a number of other important aspects of the interaction of atomic ensembles with the radiation field. Many modern experimental methods are analyzed in detail, such as optical pumping, laser cooling of quantum systems and capture of atoms with laser rays. In the final chapter, special attention is paid to the concept of quantum confusion and the importance of taking into account correlations on examples of the paradox of Einstein, Podolsky, Rosen and Bell theory. Each chapter is accompanied by a number of additions in which examples of practical applications are discussed, where special attention is paid to modern achievements in laser optics. The book contains an extensive bibliography of original works, monographs and textbooks and is well illustrated. The original and clearly written book of French scientists will be met with interest with a wide circle of readers. It will bring great benefits to students of all physical and mathematical specialties and all those who are seriously interested in modern quantum mechanics.
