The work presents in a generalized form the development of the methodology of the economic substantiation of the energy supply cost management system in the technological complex of railway transport, the results of the testing of the system of energy economic passportation of railways and the criteria for assessing the energy efficiency of enterprises of Russian Railways are given. The work will be useful in the practical activities of specialists of the railway departments responsible for the energy efficiency of basic activities, in the educational process when teaching students in railway specialties and areas of training.
