Raised virgin lands. Sholokhov M.
Mikhail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov, many generations of readers know primarily as the author of the popularly beloved novel “Quiet Don” and such works as “Don stories”, “They fought for their homeland”, “The fate of man”. In 1965, the writer was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature "For the artistic strength and integrity of the epic about the Don Cossacks at a turning point for Russia." Sholokhov’s romance “Raised virgins” is one of the most famous works of Soviet literature. On the instructions of the party, the Communist Davydov arrives in the village of Gremyachny Log. He is ready to begin collectivization, and he is supported by the chairman of the village council of Tratnov and the secretary of the party cell Nagulnov, but all three meet resistance from local residents. Sholokhov created a book that leaves a far from an unambiguous impression: the main characters of his novel are people unconditionally honest and arousing, but at the same time obsessed with the idea of collectivization (“Second Bolshevik Revolution”), which turned out to be cruel and destructive for many.
