“Trap for a raven” Anne Klibz is another book in the piggy bank of the classics of the English detective. However, unlike many colleagues in the genre, in this work Ann Klves is most interested in not only the crime itself and the procedure for exposing the killer, but also a detailed analysis of events that led to the disaster.
The focus of the writer's attention is three women very unlike each other - Rachel, Ann and Grace. It is difficult for them to find a common language, but they are forced to spend several weeks in the same house on green hills and windy wastelands of North England, checking the area intended for development, for the presence of rare specimens of plants and animals.
The work interrupts the murder of one of them. The detective Vera Stenhoup, who came to investigate the case, does not want them to leave the house in the hills: she believes that the killer will return and easier to catch on live bait. Is the death of the victim with an environmental check or someone from the local village brings old accounts with women? The fate of the main characters are bizarrely intertwined, and they need to have time to understand these connections in order to understand the logic of the killer.
