Realism of fate. 2nd edition. Putov A.S.
Autobiographical narrative of the artist Alexander Putov (1940-2008) covers all three periods of his life: Soviet (1940-1973), Israeli (1973-1986) and French (1986-2008). The post-war childhood and school years in Western Siberia and the Moscow Region, the Moscow non-conformist environment of the 1960s-early 70s, Haifa and Jerusalem, the squat of Russian artists in Paris, the Art Cloche movement, friendship with M. Schwartzman, L. Gubanov, L. Gubanov, A. Khvostenko are described with confessional sincerity and picturesque convexity, which does not cancel the actual accuracy. The exalted meditations about the divine sense of art are adjacent to thoughts, sometimes sorrowful, on the topics of “artist and money”, “genius and society”. The book is generously illustrated by photographs provided by the author and friends of the author, as well as Putov’s work reproductions.
