The real edition included selected autobiographical works of one of the most soulful and tragic classics of Russian literature Ivan Alekseevich Bunin (1870–1953). These are notes and excerpts from notebooks, “Odessa Diary”, describing the events of the fall of 1905, the Chronicle of the Nobel Days and the text of the speech, uttered by the writer during the presentation of the most prestigious literary award, as well as the essay “As I write”, revealing the secrets of his literary skill. The book begins with the history of the Bunins clan and his memoirs of childhood and youth told by the author, clarifying the choice of the life path of the future Nobel laureate.

Covering the years lived by Bunin in Russia and conducted by him in exile, the collected materials are a kind of continuation of his artistic prose and at the same time, with unusual reliability, create an idea of ​​the whole attitude of the poet, bring to us some continuous, merged, merged together the “delight and horror of being”, filled with thoughts about what is happening and inexorably leaving life.
