Red flower. 5, 8 grade. Garshin V.
In the history of Russian literature, Vsevolod Garshin (1855-1888) occupies a special place, as if personifying a transitional link from the Golden Age of Russian literature to Silver Age. The younger contemporary of Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Turgenev, Garshin continued the traditions of a realistic school, inheriting his great predecessors. Turgenev wrote to him in one of the letters: "Every aging writer, who sincerely loving his job, rejoices when he reveals the heirs to himself: you are one of them." And at the same time, Garshin was the first to widely use the techniques of expressionism in prose, thereby predetermining the appearance of such figures in our literature as Leonid Andreev, Alexei Remizov and Andrey Bely. Unfortunately, at the age of thirty -three years, the life of Vsevolod Garshin tragically broke off... Under the cover of this book, the whole artistic heritage of the writer fit, with the exception of essays, poetry and articles about painting.
