“Atonement” is an amazing “chronicle of lost time” in its sincerity, which is led by a teenage girl, in his bizarre and childishly cruel way, re-evaluating and rethinking the events of an “adult” life.

In 2007, the film adaptation of the novel was released (dir. Joe Wright, in the main roles of Kira Knightley and James Makeva). The film was presented at the Venice Film Festival, won two Golden Globe awards and one of the seven nominations for Oscar.
