Regenerative procedures in aesthetic medicine. Edited: Pinto E.
The book is devoted to the dynamically developing area of modern medical science - regenerative medicine. Significant interest in this area is largely associated with an increase in life expectancy, since with age there is a natural decrease in the regenerative potential of the body tissues. These changes lead not only to the development of somatic diseases, but also to the appearance of external signs of aging, which significantly increases the relevance of aesthetic medical procedures.
The latest achievements in the field of biochemistry and genetics brought the medical community closer to the understanding of cellular and molecular mechanisms that determine aging. Given the new knowledge about the principles of aging, the development of methods for correcting age -related changes using regenerative methods is a promising direction of aesthetic medicine and gerontology. The advantages of existing techniques with regenerative potential include their safety, since they are based on the use of autological elements. At the same time, the lack of a convincing evidence base and standardized protocols for regenerative procedures can limit the wide introduction of these methods of clinical practice.
The book sets out the main issues of the physiology of aging, the rationale for the use of regenerative methods and their practical application are considered In aesthetic medicine.
The publication is addressed to all specialists working in the field of aesthetic medicine.
