Remembering Moscow. Bessonov V.A.
“Remembering Moscow”-the fifth book after the “Moscow backyards”, “Moscow conversations”, “Life of Moscow Ponds” and “Nirnzee House”, which tells about the life of the fourth century, mainly from the end of the XIX century to the end of the 1930s. The author restores only one small “page” of the cultural history of Moscow from a huge array of events, but does this with the help of archival documents, photographs and notes of meetings with eyewitnesses of what happened. The book reveals Moscow houses and persons widely known (N.S. Ashukin, V.Ya. Bryusov, I.A. Bunin, B.K. Zaitsev, V.A. Trifonov, V.F. Khodasevich, L.Z.. Also completely unknown (I.I. Belousov, V.N. Ilnarskaya, L.D. Ryndina-Sokolova, A.A. Smirnov, P.L. Blory, I.V. Repin, V.P. Utanov and others.). Thanks to “Archival Stories”, all these surnames (especially the latter, about which you can learn a lot only in this book) were suddenly in demand by today with their achievements, mistakes, all -Russian problems and, of course, Moscow colorful life, as if it were - only Extend your hand - yesterday...
