1970. The latest missile defense system has been created at the closed Soviet training ground. One of the project participants, Gennady Khustov, staging his own death, runs with copies of secret drawings abroad, hoping to profitably sell them to Western special services. The KGB learns about the plans of the defector and sends the Don group, led by Lieutenant Colonel Vyacheslav Bogdanov, in the search.
