The book “Rev. Sergius of Radonezh and the Trinity Lavra created by him”, written in 1892 by the outstanding historian of the Russian Church, academician E. E. Golubinsky (1834-1912), is the most complete, thorough and authoritative scientific-historical essay on the famous Russian monastery and its founder. This edition is carried out by the Trinity-Sergius Lavra in the ongoing series of books "Trinity Library". The text is printed according to the second lifetime edition of the book of E. E. Golubinsky (1909) while preserving the author's spelling and punctuation. Noticed errors are fixed. The new edition is equipped with a modern scientific apparatus (editorial comments, a bibliographic list of printed sources used by the author, signs). The illustrative material of the 1909 publication is supplemented by modern photographs of the architectural monuments of Lavra and its environs. On the cover - a miniature from the facial life of the Monk Sergius of the XIV century.
