The book is dedicated to the Normist-Promised Sevastian Karaganda (1884-1966). His life was a continuation of life in Christ of the God -bearing Optina elders, from whom he inherited the spiritual treasures of the patristic tradition. Sevastian's father was a fearless confessor of the faith of Christ, a tireless shepherd who acquired the numerous gifts of God. The book contains fragments of the life of the old man, his advice, instructions and amazing cases of his wonderful help.
