Robinson Crusoe. Defoe D.
Robinson Crusoe is one of the most famous books in all European literature. But for ten people who know Robinson, it is hardly one who knows his author. Entering the literature for youth, this book came off from its historical and literary environment. In addition to Robinson, three books of the XVII-XVIII century firmly and for a long time resisted children's literature: Don Quixote, Gulliver and Munchausen.
The fate of Munchausen is different from the fate of the other two books. Munchausen is exhausted by the fact that a children's reader can find in it. If it is read at a later age, then only as a memory of childhood. No new horizons during secondary reading in the book are opened. And accordingly, the name of the author of Munchausen is not aware of this. Only bibliograph specialists know what he was called when and in what language he wrote.
