Daniil Andreev (1906-1959), the Russian poet and mystic, spent ten years in prison, which was sentenced in 1947 for the novel, which later disappeared into Lubyanka without a trace. Andreev wrote his main works in the Vladimir prison: from mystical insights and poetic freedom, the philosophical treatise “Rose of the World” was born - an inspired vision of world unity, it would seem, completely impossible in the middle of the horror of the Stalinist deadly conveyor.
