In 1907, immediately after the escape from exile, Lev Trotsky, under the pseudonym “N. Trotsky ”writes the book“ There and Back ”, which was published in the same year in the publishing house“ Roseknik ”. Being in the escape, every minute awaiting the chase and trusting his life and freedom of the strongly drinking coachman Nikifor, Trotsky becomes involuntarily ethnographer-he goes through sparsely populated places in the cold season, participates in catching deer, spends the nights at the fire, keeps notes on the life of the Siberian nationalities. Not only the political Trotsky faces the reader - and this is valuable by a book that has not reprinted nearly a hundred years.
