Royal idyll. Tennison A.
Alfred tennison is one of the brightest poets of the Victorian era. If the sisters Bronte, Elizabeth Gaskell and Charles Dickens represent the Victorian era in prose, then tennyson, like no other, expressed it in poetry. It has long been noticed that, if the era was not called Victorian, she could well have the name of Alfred tennison. In surprisingly picturesque and musical verses, he embodied ideas, dreams, aspirations and values of his contemporaries, although he turned in his plots to the distant centuries: to antiquity and legends about King Arthur.
The most famous works of tennison - “Royal Idillia”, “Ulysses”, “Lotophagi”, “Death of Arthur” and others were included in the present publication. The Royal Idillia cycle is printed in the translation of Olga Chyumina, who saw the light in 1903-1904 and won a high assessment of critics. O. N. Chyumin was not just the first, but even until recently the only translator who introduced Russian readers to the main labor of tennison.
