Russia and Africa
The book is a continuation of the two -volume “Russia and Africa. Documents and materials. XVIII century-1960... The collection included previously not published documents about Soviet-African ties and relations from the 1961 to the early 1970s. From the funds of the external policy of the Russian Federation (AVP of the Russian Federation), the Russian State Archive of Recent History (RGAN), the State Archive of the Russian Federation (GA of the Russian Federation), the State Archive of the Sverdlovsk Region (HASO). The published documents highlight the establishment of diplomatic relations, the formation of economic, political and cultural relations, the formation of mutual representations, and the provision of the Soviet Union for the assistance of the national liberation movements of South of Africa.
Materials are grouped in the following sections: General documents characterizing the main directions of Soviet-African interaction and a Soviet view of the situation in Africa, Africans in Russia, Russians in Africa, the formation of mutual representations, documents relating to individual African regions and countries. The documents submitted in the collection cover the countries of Black Africa, whose relations with the USSR were the most important, and the nature and problems of these relations are the most typical and representative. The collection is designed for researchers, teachers and university students, for everyone who is interested in the history of Africa and Russian-African relations.
