Russia is different. Voga P.N.
Peter Normann Boge (born 1953) - a famous Norwegian Slavist, philosopher, culturologist, journalist and writer. He is the author of the fundamental monographs “Fedor Dostoevsky: The overthrow of idols” (1997) (published in Russia in 2003), “Invisible continent: Vladimir Solovyov as a European philosopher” (1988), “I, an individual in the history of culture.” (published in Russia in 2011). Many of his books and articles were recognized outside Norway and translated into German, English and Russian languages.
“Russia is different” - this is an attempt by the author to write a biography of the country, following its cultural and mental history from ancient times to our days. He is trying to answer such questions as: what is the peculiarity of Russia? Why is this country so different from Western Europe? How could Russia cultivate so many great writers and artists, having such a totalitarian political story?
In the Norwegian press, among other things, they wrote about this book: "If you want to understand Russia, read the book Bog." (Stavanger Aftenblad).
The author does not impose stereotypical answers to questions to us, but calls us to reflect with him and in many ways to argue.
The book is addressed not only to historians, philosophers, sociologists, politicians, journalists, but also a wide range of readers.
