His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II once called the Obsk-Irtysh north of the Russian Calvary, since it was here that many priests and laity, exiled here from all over the huge Soviet Union, became new martyrs and confessors, shed their blood for Christ and his Orthodox Church. Of course, among them were the inhabitants of our Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Ugra. The discovery of the names of these people, the study of their lives, the establishment of their martyrdom and confessional feat, their glorification in the saints is our sacred duty to them.
