The book “Russian Cosmological Romance of the twentieth century” is a study of two interconnected trends characteristic of the literature of the 20th century: interest in myth -making and striving to create original cosmology - a single picture of the world and man.
The author analyzes six large works of the novel genre, in which myth -making is one of the key principles that determine the poetics of the text directly aimed at expressing the cosmological consciousness of the corresponding era. The novels of Andrei Bely, Andrei Platonov, Vladimir Nabokov, Andrei Bitov, Vadim Nazarov and Viktor Pelevin are versed in terms of myth -making strategies of the authors closely related to the nature of the myths they create.
