Journalism at all times reflected relevant ideas for the development of society, responded to the challenges of its era. A significant contribution to the formation of the history and theory of journalism was made by the Leningrad/St. Petersburg School of Journalism. In 1946, the Faculty of Faculty of Leningrad State University was opened by the journalism department, which became the leading center for training professional journalists and journalism researchers. The Department of History of Journalism laid the foundation for the formation of historical and journalistic science.
the proposed collection of scientific articles, which combined traditional and new research approaches, is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Department of Journalism of St. Petersburg State University.
