The proposed publication is the first attempt by the anthology of Russian thought about death and covers three centuries. The book includes the most striking texts belonging to the pen of both philosophers and writers-publicists. Among them, M. M. Shcherbatov, Bishop Ignatius (D. A. Bryanchaninov), V. S. Solovyov, V.V. Rozanov, E. N. Trubetskoy, M. M. Bakhtin, I. A. Ilyin and many others. In accompanying publication, the article and comments reveal the history of domestic intuitions about death and immortality against the backdrop of the main problems of its time.
