1942. In the area of ​​Rzhev there are bloody battles. On one of the sections of the front, the Soviet command decides to conduct reconnaissance in battle. The backbone of the group is made up of Lieutenant Aleksey Sokolov, an experienced commander who passed with his crew, the most packed war. The detachment goes into reconnaissance and discovers that there are no Germans on the front line. The enemy retreated in an organized manner, leaving only a small cover.
