Saint Dmitry Donskoy: Collection. Comp. Lukin E.V.
Grand Duke Dimitri Ivanovich Donskoy was awarded the general church veneration in 1988 at the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church. In 2020, Russia will celebrate two significant dates-the 670th anniversary of the birth of the Holy Blessed Grand Duke Demetrius Donskoy and the 640th anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Kulikovo. The release of this publication is timed to these glorious dates, which included the “Word about the life and replacement of Prince Dmitry Ivanovich”, created at the turn of the XIV-XV centuries, the first poetic translation of the Old Russian song “Zadonshchina” of the XIV century, historical research of Russian talented authors of the XVIII-XX centuries A.I. Mankieva, V.N. Tatishcheva, A.V. Kazadaeva, N.V. Savelyeva-Rostislavich, N.I. Troitsky and Archimandrite Leonid (Cavelina). The book was decorated with poems by the poets of the XIX century N.M. Lazikova, L.A. Yakubovich, L.N. Trefolev and D.B. Kedrina, V.A. Ozerova. The dramatic poem of the modern St. Petersburg poet E.V. completes the collection Lukina “The invincible governor”, which was based on the legend of the Don icon of the Virgin, gained during the Battle of Kulikovo.
The publication is illustrated by icons, ancient Russian miniatures, pictures of famous Russian artists.
