Scarled. Heavenly camels. Guro E.
Elena Guro (1877–1913) - a radiant poet, artist, theorist of futurism. In 1909, her first book of stories, poems and plays “Sharmanyka” was published, and in 1914, after the death of Elena, her diary notes “Heavenly camels”. These two cycles entered our collection. Most of all, Guro loved the wind, forest, camel and freedom. Its text is light and joyful, consists of small sketches of quiet everyday life, her thoughts, her sadness and the mystical divination of the terrible and passionate future. Guro's style goes back to the original combination of symbolism, impressionism and avant -garde, and in the foreground there is always harmony and divinity of nature. Khodasevich calls her the most “real”, contrasting all the avant -garde: “Oh, you are richly rich in a bowl, a heart that has believed in everything! “At least this phrase once and once separates itself from those with whom only literary age and general non -recognition brought it together.”
