The sixteen -year -old Ava Lee lost everything that can be lost in a fire: parents, best friend, her house and even face. Ave does not need a mirror to know how she looks - she sees her reflection in the frightened eyes of others.

A year after the fire, relatives and doctors decide that she should return to school in search of a “new norm”, although Ava does not believe that there can be at least something normal in the life of a charred girl.

But when Ava meets the Piper, who found himself in a wheelchair after the accident, she understands that she will not have to cope with the nightmare of the school world alone. The sarcastic and straightforward piper is not afraid to push the avu from the comfort zone, helping her find friends, return to the theater scene and believe in herself again. That's just Piper leads his own battle, and friends have yet to decide whether to continue to hide behind the scars or accept help, spread their wings and fly.
