The monograph considers the problem of school education during the reforms of the conservative, liberal and Labor Parties from 1870 to 1997
Different types of public schools, private institutions and church schools of various faiths were characterized and systematized. Increased attention is paid to the initiative of the British churches. And first of all, the State Church of England, which created the basis of primary education in England in the XVIII century. and guarding special institutions for children with disabilities, as well as charitable women's schools. It is shown that in the XX century. Control of churches over schools gradually weakened, due to the strengthening of secularization and democratization of education.
