Nikolai Petrovich Trublaini (real Fam. Trublaevsky; 1907 - 1941) - Ukrainian Soviet writer, author of adventure and fantastic works for children and youth. He was one of the organizers of the pioneer movement in Ukraine. He worked as a correspondent of the newspaper Visti. A participant in several Antarctic expeditions - on the icebreakers “Litka” and “Siberians” (1930) and “Vladimir Rusanov” (1932). Based on impressions from these travels, he wrote his first books “To the Arctic through the Tropics” and “A man hurries to the north”. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he went to the front by a military correspondent. On October 3, 1941, he replaced the deceased machine gunner in the battle and was mortally wounded during the raid of enemy aircraft.
The novel “Skhuna“ Columbus ”is dedicated to the defense of the Motherland, the heroic struggle of Soviet youth against spies and saboteurs sent to the territory of the USSR from abroad. The main characters of the story, Marco and Luda are courageous young heroes, selflessly honest patriots, for whom service to the Motherland is happiness. They are talented, resourceful, fearless.
