Gilbert Kit Chesterton is a recognized classic of English literature, one of the brightest writers of the first half of the 20th century. His novels and numerous essays became classic, but the love of the mass reader brought him stories about his father Brown, a quiet, shy priest, masterfully revealing the most confusing puzzles and crimes. The publication of these stories, begun in 1911 by the collection “ignorance of the Father Brown”, stretched for a good quarter century, turning into a detective epic. Her wise and unpretentious hero does not give brilliant lectures in the spirit of Erkul Poirot and does not create great theories, like Sherlock Holmes.
