The book is devoted to the study of the phenomena of musical culture using methods of mathematical modeling. The authors set the task to cover the widest spectrum of issues that are relevant for modern music, considering them both in the historical and theoretical aspect. Analytical sketches (appropriate primarily to musicians' musicians addressed to musicologists) are allocated to some chapters, which are devoted to interpretation of quantitative data in correlation and comparison with the paradigms traditional for music recognition. The 1st part of the monograph was written by P. A. Kulichkin, the 3rd part is N. B. Zubareva. The 2nd part was written by the authors together.
