Nikolai Nikolaevich Cherepinnin (1873-1945) is one of the most extraordinary and at the same time underestimated personalities in the history of Russian music. The volumetric (c. 100) the composer’s chamber-vocal work is imprinted in the style of the Balakirevsky circle, later (in the 1900s) “diluted” by finds of the vocal lyrics of the French impressionists. The collection includes romances on the verses of P. B. Shelley, I. O. Lyalechkin, A. A. Golenishchev-Kutuzova, A. N. Maikova, F. I. Tyutcheva, N. A. Nekrasova.
The publication is addressed to students of music schools and universities, professional performers and lovers of vocal music.
