Semiotics. Essays on history and theory. Damn L.F.
In the book, the subject of semiotics is considered in the historical and theoretical aspects. The historical essay describes the development of ideas about signs and languages in philosophy and science and the formation of semiotics as a special discipline. In the essay of the semiotic theory, this discipline is presented from a single point of view as a system of interconnected concepts by which signs and other means of information connection are described. Along with the structure and functions of signs, the relations between a variety of semiotic systems are considered: their similarities, differences, types of ties and interaction in the seven-sphere of culture.
The essays uses the materials of lectures on the semiotics, read by the author at St. Petersburg State University and RHGA (St. Petersburg), as well as the results of his previous works. Here they are no longer presented, but as part of a unified semiotic concept, in which a number of new concepts are introduced and some old ones are rethought.
The book can be useful for all the problems of interest that are interested in the study of the subject, to specialists studying the ratios between semiiotic systems in different fields of culture.
