Senior Edda. Songs about deities. Scandinavian epos
The attention of readers is proposed to the first Russian translation of Edda - an outstanding monument of ancient nosmarine literature, a collection of poetic tales about gods and ancient heroes. The translation was made by Sofia Alexandrovna Sviridova - a poet, a prose writer, a translator, a musicologist published under the pseudonym S. Sviridenko. For this work, she was awarded the award of the Imperial Academy of Sciences. The translation is made by the poetic size of the original with the widespread use of Russian alliteration verse and is equipped with an extensive scientific commentary.
