Julian Semenovich Semenov - Russian writer, historian, poet, journalist, author of the cult novel about Stirlitz, the legendary Soviet intelligence officer. Max Otto von Stirlitz (Colonel Maxim Maksimovich Isaev) won the love of millions of readers and became a truly folk hero. Jokes tell about him and continue to argue about his prototypes. For many years, Julian Semenov received letters from readers with the address on the envelope: “Moscow, the Union of Writers, Semenov for Isaeva-Shtirlitz”. Different people, of different ages, nationalities, tastes, recalled Semenov, asked to give the address of Maxim Maksimovich Isaev to start correspondence with him. The novel “Seventeen Moments of Spring” was published in 1970, and three years later its film adaptation took place, the script was also written by Julian Semenov. The television movie was a deafening success and to this day remains a hit of Russian cinema.
