Lidia Yuknavic has the gift of telling the stories of vulnerable people whose life is full of shocks. The near future, due to global warming, the ocean level rose, and refugees flow to the surviving areas of land. Laisve lost her mother and brother and tries to save those who she still values. She travels through water and time, communicates with the turtle, collects strange things.

In her way there are builders of statues of freedom, prisoners of an underwater prison, an indigo child, a woman with a prosthesis instead of a leg, people of various ages and nationalities. Will Laisve, wandering in the mirroring worlds, change the course of history?
