The recognized classic of Italian literature Paskual Fest Campanila (1927-1986) in Russia is better known as the author of scripts of cinema-masterpieces such as “Rock-ko and his brothers”, “leopard” or “four days of Naples”. In addition, he is a director of famous comedies with Adriano Celentano (Bingo-Bongo, “Hang-hands!”). In the novel “Sin” (1980), only now, for the first time translated into Russian, the passionate love of the army chaplain and the patient of the sanatorium unfolds against the background of the events of the First World War - a catastrophic defeat in the battle of the Kaparetto and the panic of the Italian troops.
