Sixty. Alekseeva A.
Sixty of the book “Sixty” - “Norwegian Fairy Tale”, but in it you will not meet anything expected: neither magic trolls, nor sea travels, nor ice islands. From the fairy tale, there are only the very descent “they lived, there were a grandfather and a woman”, and then a fascinating joke that offers the child an exercise to remember numbers. It resembles the fun poem of Daniil Harms “Million”: “One, two, three, four, / and four times / four, / one hundred four / per four, / one and a half hundred, / two hundred thousand for four! / And then four!.. ”Learning the basics of not only reading, but also arithmetic was the most important task of early -Soviet pedagogy: 1930, when the book was published, was marked by the Decree“ On the Universal Compulsory In Primary Education ”. To combine entertainment with the benefit, which every modern parent dreams of, strove a century ago, so that such books were in demand. The main work fell on the artist: Natalya Nazr created the atmosphere of the North, which emerges from the associations that arose in a person in the word “Norway”: a half -wild shore, boats, endless mountains of fish. But next to the lyrical and truly fabulous drawings, the illustrator places monumental numbers surrounded by small figures, which everyone can calculate and make sure: indeed - twelve, indeed twenty, indeed - sixty.
