The book first translated into Russian reveals the author’s ideas about pagan beliefs and myths of the Slavs, mainly Western ones. The author considers them from the standpoint of the unity of the culture and language of the Slavs, advocating for the unity of all branches in the face of historical challenges, gives many examples from ethnography, historical and other sources.

The book published for the first time in 1906 is equipped with comments based on modern scientific ideas.
