Small stories about little Pete. Berg L.
British journalist and publicist Leila Berg (1917-2012) fought for the rights of children, alternative education and informal teaching methods. And Leila Berg was an excellent children's writer. She composed fascinating stories for both inquisitive kids and older children. She was very loved in Russia in the 50s of the last century, more than once published separate stories in children's magazines, and several books were published. “Little Stories about Little Pede” saw the light in 1952 and since then they were repeatedly reprinted (including in Russian in 1955).
The hero of “Small stories” is the most ordinary boy: very curious, very curious, To the best of the Shalun. He walks along the streets together with his shadow, knows everything new, and every day for him either “wonderful”, or “special”, or simply “good”. The author surprisingly accurately conveys the worldview of the child - how he sees adults, how he evaluates their words and actions, as he himself does. And, I must say, Pete is lucky for good adults - understanding, patient, ready to help, explain and even participate in the imaginary game of the boy.
In the book, Vitaly Goryaev’s illustrations for the first edition are reproduced.
