Ari Thor, a young policeman from Reykjavik, comes to a small town in the north of Iceland, where no one locks the doors - and you can get here only through a narrow tunnel in the mountains. Loneliness, snow and the darkness of the endless winter are delayed by Ari Thor into the abysses of nightmares, he is overcome by memories of the past and longing for a girlfriend left in Reykjavik. He feels like a stranger in this close community of people who have long known each other. But when they find a half -naked woman, bleeding in the snow, and the elderly writer falls out of the stairs at the local theater, Ari Thor, who conducts the investigation, is in the very center of this community - and he cannot trust anyone. The past plays with the present, the tension increases, and Ari Thor is more and more deeply plunged into her own darkness - blinded by snow, under the sight of many eyes.
