The collection of creations of Russian ascetics of piety of the XV-XIX centuries proposed to the attention of readers in detail reveals the patristic doctrine of smart work and monasticism. The book contains both theoretical information about the basics of spiritual life and the practical recommendations necessary for the experimental passage of spiritual work. For the real publication, the sisters of the translation group of the Novo-Tikhvinsky Convent were translated from the Church Slavonic language of those ascetic creations of the Monk Paisius Velichkovsky, Vasily Polyanomerulsky, the Nile of Sorsky and Zosima Verkhovsky, who, for the most part, were almost not published in the Russian language. At the end of the second volume, brief information is given about the Holy Fathers, whose creations entered the real collection.
