The real book, written by the Belgian sociologist, the rector of the New Brussels University by Gillom de Greeph (1842-1924), is devoted to social economy, or economic sociology,-the direction of social research, which involves the study of economic activity from the standpoint of sociological science. The book considers the subject and method of social economy, highlights its history, describes the emergence and development of a mathematical school in the study of economic and social phenomena.
The book, published more than a hundred years ago (1904) and became one of the first Monographs on economic sociology, and today it will be interesting to economists, sociologists, historians of economic thought, as well as university students studying economics and social studies.
