This publication is an analytical review of the most urgent problems of the socio -economic development of Russia. The ballot continues a series of similar books published in the period from 1996 to 2015. All issues of this series have both general chapters (geopolitics, Russian economy), and the chapter dedicated to the most relevant process for the development of Russian society for 2016. In this issue, such a topic is the image of Russia in the middle of the 21st century. As a result, proposals are formulated, the implementation of which will help to significantly improve the current economic situation in the country.

The application contains tables that present the main socio -economic indicators of Russia. This is done specifically: practice has shown that many use the ballot as a reference book, where all the data is reduced together, which is much more convenient than the huge books of Rosstat. Moreover, many information (mining of copper and aluminum in tons, capital leakage, etc.) is not in the reports of Rosstat.
