The beginning of the sixteenth century, Middle Germany. The retired soldier Yaroslav Volkov returns home after nineteen years of continuous warrior. He dreams of a quiet, peaceful life, but, passing through the possessions of one feudal lord, he receives an offer that cannot refuse: he needs to restore order in Feoda. To do this is not easy, painfully influential people are not interested in order. And not only people, as it turns out a little later. It has long been unclean in Rutta, and the peasants disappear there much more often than in other possessions. But a soldier is a strong -willed and brave man, for the sake of a reward he is ready to take risks.
