This book includes the historical and critical essay “Sophocles and Heroic Tragedy”, as well as a detailed analysis of each of the seven preserved tragedies of the great ancient Greek poet (“King Oedipus”, “Oedipus in the Colon”, “Antigon”, “Aant”, “ Fikoltet ”,“ Electra ”,“ Trakhnyanka ”).

All articles were part of the publication: Sophocles. Drama. Translation with the introduction and the introductory essay of F. Zelinsky, TT. 1-3: M., M. and S. Sabashnikov, 1914–1915 and since then in Russian were not published.
