The outstanding Italian philosopher, thinker, diplomat and politician of the Renaissance, Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527), was not only a witness and participant in the epoch -making historical events, he turned out to be their insightful researcher and interpreter. In his works, the great Italian, in historical examples, described the properties of character, skills and methods of government, necessary for the ideal ruler - one that will become the embodiment of power itself and will be able to lead a nation to prosperity. In the interpretation of the ideal sovereign Machiavelli contrasts the activity of the ancient valor of the preaching of Christian humility. In the latter, he sees a disaster that weakens the world order and gives him to the power of cynical rulers who do not abye on any means.
many call Machiavelli one of the founders of the science of political science and the founder of the theory of political technology. He created an applied manual for politicians of all time. The description of the principle of power (in Italian, the main work of Machiavelli-“Sovereign” is called “Il Picipe”) such that the readers of the Machiavelli subsequently called a policy based on the cult of gross power and neglect of moralism, “Machiavellism”. All world political systems were cut through the patterns of his “experimental science”. For five centuries, supporters of his methods and means have been used by recipes for Machiavelli, and opponents rack their heads and strain state minds over the antidote.
