“Moscow Sovereigns” is a monumental cycle of Romanov, created by the writer, philologist-Russianist, folklorist and historian Dmitry Balashov. This epic chronicle, a kind of one grandiose epic novel that has been a multi-volume edition, covers the period of Russian history from 1263 to 1425 and has not ceased to hit readers with the depths, scale, brightness of images and workshop for many decades. Together, the novels of the cycle form a kind of chronicle in which the historical events of the life of large principalities unfold the year after the year, which reflects the life and morals of various classes, represent the fate, appearance and character of hundreds of historical figures.
