Polly Evans, an employee of one of the information and entertainment publications of Hong Kong, decides to forget about work for a while, try to tame the bicycle and go on a fascinating trip to Spain on it. Overcoming steep rise and protracted descents in the Pyrenees, bypassing the olive groves of Andalusia and the Navarra's villages forgotten by God, she meets a ferocious pig, fights off the zealous believers and is saved from a native of her morality. She is brightened up by a difficult walk only to acquaintance with local cuisine and with shocking facts from Spanish history, in particular about the king who collected human heads, about the queen who was working around the country with the body of the deceased spouse, and about the duchess who lost their foot.
